ISS among first organisations to join UK Government’s Cyber Resilience Pledge

ISS, a global leader in workplace experience and facility management, is delighted to have joined the UK Government’s Cyber Resilience Pledge, underlining its commitment to protecting its business, customers, people and the wider communities they serve.

Cyber Security Pledge

Led by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, the Pledge, launched at 10 Downing Street on 7 July, brings together government and industry to strengthen cyber security across the UK economy. With cyber threats becoming more frequent, sophisticated and increasingly supported by new technologies such as artificial intelligence, organisations have a critical role to play in keeping people, data and services safe.

By becoming an early adopter, ISS is joining the first group of businesses taking practical steps to raise standards, share responsibility and help build a more resilient digital future.

The Pledge focuses on three key commitments:

1.    Ensuring cyber security is recognised as a Board-level responsibility
2.    Using the National Cyber Security Centre’s Early Warning service to identify potential threats
3.    Taking a risk-based approach to cyber security standards across the supply chain

Signing the Pledge builds on the ongoing work taking place across ISS to strengthen its systems, processes and behaviours. Its strongest defence will always be informed and vigilant colleagues who understand the part they play.

Leanne Lynch, Chief Information Officer for ISS UK & Ireland, said:

“Cyber security is fundamental to the trust our customers and colleagues place in us every day. As one of the first organisations to sign the Cyber Resilience Pledge, we’re demonstrating that protecting our customers, systems, our information and our people is a priority at every level of ISS.

“But cyber resilience isn’t something owned by one team or department. Everyone within our business has a role to play, whether that’s staying alert to suspicious emails, protecting information carefully, or following the processes that keep our digital environment safe.

“We’re proud to be working alongside the UK Government and other leading organisations to raise standards and help create a safer digital future for everyone.”

Cyber Security Minister Baroness Lloyd of Effra said:

“As one of the first to sign the Cyber Resilience Pledge, ISS is sending a clear message to their customers, investors and supply chains that cyber resilience is a core part of how they do business.

“The cyber threat facing the UK is serious, growing, and evolving fast because of AI. These first signatories are showing how the whole country needs to respond, by taking practical and achievable steps to bolster their cyber defences, and secure everyone’s growth and prosperity.”
