JointForces@ISS, our award-winning programme supporting service leavers and their families as they transition to civilian life and employment - Reservist of the Year
Gavin Milligan, Operations Manager in our Financial Services business and Army reservist
Zoe Moulson, Regional Account Director in Financial Services and Sponsor of ISS UK's Military Community Employee Resource Group (ERG), commented:
"We’re incredibly proud of everyone nominated. Their commitment, professionalism and impact reflect the very best of ISS — and it’s fantastic to see their contributions recognised on such a respected stage.”

JointForces@ISS | Highly Commended: Diversity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year
JointForces@ISS is ISS’s award-winning programme supporting service leavers, veterans and their families as they transition into civilian careers. It provides tailored support including one-to-one career advice, CV development, interview preparation and access to work placements and job opportunities. Built around mentorship and real-world experience, the programme helps participants build confidence and transferable skills while showcasing the value of military talent within ISS. JointForces@ISS also connects colleagues through a wider military community, encouraging engagement, advocacy and inclusion, while reinforcing ISS’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and supporting long-term career success for those who have served.
Gavin Milligan, Operations Manager in Financial Services | Highly Commended: Reservist of the Year
Over the past 18 months, Gavin Milligan has excelled simultaneously as a reservist, civilian leader, cadet force instructor, and Armed Forces ambassador. After re-joining the Army Reserve in November 2024, he earned Best Recruit 2025 while leading a civilian portfolio of over 100 personnel across 11 sites — transforming his region into a best-in-class operation recognised during a national NSI Guarding Gold audit. He actively supports veterans and reservists into employment and contributes voluntarily to the Army Cadet Force, delivering advanced fieldcraft training. Praised by senior leaders for balancing significant responsibilities with resilience and professionalism, Gavin is an exceptionally deserving winner.
Peter Hall, Retail Engineering Lead in Financial Services | Finalist: Engineering Excellence
Peter Hall served in the Royal Navy for 24 years, rising to Petty Officer Marine Engineering Technician. His distinguished service included Anti-Submarine Warfare deployments on HMS Argonaut, humanitarian operations in the Caribbean aboard HMS Southampton, instructor roles at the Royal Navy Fire School, a Commander-in-Chief Commendation for conduct during a high-pressure incident in Oman, and a major narcotics seizure on HMS Montrose. Since joining ISS in 2014, he has progressed from Electrical Supervisor to Global Mechanical Services Lead, delivering measurable improvements in safe systems of work, operational safety, and technician development — significantly strengthening client confidence along the way.
Dan Clapcott, HSEQ Consultant in Financial Services | Finalist: Outstanding Achiever of the Year
Since joining ISS in early 2025 as HSEQ Lead, Dan Clapcott has transformed Health, Safety, Environment and Quality delivery across a major client account — shifting it from a compliance function to a trusted operational enabler. Inheriting low reporting, fragmented processes, and limited trust, he built strong relationships at all levels, significantly increased Near Hit reporting, refreshed risk assessments, and strengthened audit practices. Following a serious electrical incident, he led a robust root cause analysis despite resistance, driving organisation-wide improvements. A compelling example of the value veterans bring, Dan has embedded lasting cultural change in a remarkably short time.
Benedict Barry, JointForces@ISS Programme Alumni | Finalist: New Service Leaver of the Year
Following more than 22 years of distinguished British Army service, Benedict Barry has made an outstanding transition into civilian industry. As a mentee on the ISS Joint Forces programme, he engaged with humility and determination, translating military experience into genuine business capability. Alongside full-time employment, he achieved ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, a Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management, and both NEBOSH General and Fire Certificates — leading to a critical leadership role as Refuelling and Tank Farm Manager at North Air. Benedict also actively supports fellow service leavers through their own transitions, making him a thoroughly deserving winner of Service Leaver of the Year.
