ISS host Dragons Den event with suppliers to capture latest innovations

Dragons_Den_464x207
On 17th July, ISS was delighted to host a Supplier
Innovation event at its Velocity headquarters in Weybridge, Surrey.

Dubbed ‘the Dragons Den’, the event welcomed existing and prospective suppliers to present their biggest and brightest innovations to ten members of the ISS Senior Leadership team.

Each supplier had 15 minutes to pitch to the ‘Dragons’, the key decision makers within the business, to secure sponsorship to develop their idea further.

After securing the sponsorship, the winning supplier will receive full backing from the Dragon, a follow-up meeting and the opportunity to implement the concept on a Key Account within ISS. Prior to the event, suppliers were encouraged to bring ideas and concepts that truly demonstrated innovation and the ability to ‘disrupt the norm’. The event was organised by the ISS Procurement team who work very closely with the Supply Chain to add value and bring continuous improvement on our contracts.

Lively discussions and debates were held throughout the evening, with varying props, demonstrations and interactive presentations to demonstrate products, technology and ideas for many areas including Mechanical and Electrical, Cleaning, Environment and Security. Among the suppliers pitching to the Dragons, were three companies nominated by MSDUK. MSDUK is an organisation ‘bringing together innovative and high-growth ethnic minority business (EMBS) with global corporations committed to creating an inclusive and diverse supply chain’.

Over the course of the evening, the ISS Support Services and Food Services teams looked after the 50 strong delegation with fine dining and, punctuated by a guided tour of the innovative Velocity office.

Feedback from the event was positive, with many of the suppliers receiving sponsorship. The quality of innovations and pitches were of a very high standard, whilst ISS too was praised for organising and hosting a forward-thinking and collaborative event.
