ISS wins awards for Employer of the Year (Private Sector) and Inclusive Culture (Private Sector)
ISS UK & Ireland is delighted to gain two awards from the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) for ‘Employer of the Year Private Sector’ and for ‘Inclusive Culture Private Sector’. The enei is the UK’s leading employer network covering all aspects of equality and inclusion matters in the workplace.

The enei annual awards recognises achievements in developing a truly inclusive culture. The acknowledgement at the ceremony on July 10th, 2018 comes within days of ISS taking part in its first Pride in London parade.

ISS UK & Ireland employs over 40,000 people from over 166 different countries. With such a diverse workforce, inclusion is integral to our business success and the award demonstrates our continued focus and success in this area. ISS is committed to driving an inclusive culture which we see as essential to creating business success in the right way. ISS truly believes in its people - no matter where or who they are - people are everything. And it is only through our people that we can delight our customers and their employees and have a real positive impact on their workplace.

Matthew Brabin, CEO ISS UK & Ireland, stated, “For ISS to become the world’s greatest service organisation over the long term, we are passionate about our ability to demonstrate that we are taking our responsibilities to manage our environmental and social impacts seriously. Building a diverse and inclusive culture is not just the right thing to do, but is also fundamental to our future business success which is built on delivering service with a human touch. We also applaud all of those organisations who are recognised in the enei award and continue to build links across the Facilities Management industry.“

Stephanie Hamilton Director of People and Culture ISS UK & Ireland commented, “I am delighted that the enei award presenters identified that they were ‘astonished’ with our 80% score on the question I am treated with respect as an individual', we are really proud of this feedback too. This data was taken from our annual employee engagement survey, where all of our people in our organisation in the UK and Ireland are invited to complete the survey and give feedback about how engaged and enabled they feel about working at ISS.”

Stephanie continued, “I’m so proud of this award, which demonstrates the incredible achievement of our diverse teams who respect each other. I celebrate their collective success in this area, achieved through the fantastic leadership and support networks our employees come to expect as being part of our culture within ISS.”  Stephanie concluded, “As an industry, we can make a positive difference through, for example, being active members of LGBT+ in FM, a collaborative group of FM networks working together to make FM the most attractive, inclusive and supportive industry and I thank Nicky Siddall-Collier for her continued focus and partnership approach in this area.”

Nicky Siddall-Collier - Employment Law Specialist, ISS UK & Ireland and author of the ISS UK ‘Diversity Diary added, “We also recognise and applaud the work that our CR Leaders do to enhance our culture, people within the organisation who have an interest in our corporate responsibility agenda and actively contribute to those endeavours. They are vital in our onward journey to become the worlds’ greatest service organisation. I want them to feel proud of the difference that is made by the important work that they do around embedding an inclusive culture, and we wholeheartedly thank our CR teams.“
