ISS Facility Services Landscaping business has been awarded the Gold Medal Award from RoSPA the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for once again demonstrating outstanding standards in occupational health and safety.
The Gold Medal Award is presented to those organisations that have won five consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards.
The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards are internationally recognised and have fast become the most sought after accolade by organisations from every sector.
ISS continues to promote a positive safety culture within the business, which focuses directly on the behavioural traits and actions of the workforce. Through education and guidance, we require our staff to continually challenge the safety aspects of their work environment – to stop, look and think. A new initiative has been to underpin this safety consciousness and management with a body of fully trained Health & Safety Champions who work across our business promoting safe working practices, communicating health and safety effectively and ensuring that our frontline teams have relevant and local Health & Safety leadership. David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager
, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as ISS Landscaping, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.”
Phil Jones Managing Director ISS Landscaping
said “to be awarded five consecutive gold awards highlights our continued focus to put health and safety at the forefront of everything we do. It is our Number One priority to ensure that each and every one of our staff, colleagues and clients return home safely every day. ISS will continue to work hard to exceed the industry leading standards as well as continue to set new ones”
As the UK’s family safety charity, RoSPA’s mission to save lives and reduce injuries covers all ages and stages of life. In support of this mission, the RoSPA Awards, which date back 59 years, recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
