The Co-operative Group

Our relationship with the Co-op was first established in 2012 when we were selected to provide mechanical, electrical and building fabric services for circa 400 retail banking premises in the UK

Within a short time period, the scope of this agreement was further extended to include approximately 1,700 sites nationally across their entire Trading Estate. This diverse portfolio comprises funeral service buildings, retail banking environments, high street pharmacies, food stores and petrol forecourts.

Delivery model:

Our mobile workforce of engineers provide full coverage across the estate including emergency out of hours support - 24/7/365

In addition to this, we carry out numerous bespoke project works including: 

  • Management of re-fit handovers and site risk audit
  • Roofing
  • Capital replacement works
  • Development of work order reporting analysis

Achievements:

We have recently carried out a five year forward maintenance register (FMR) condition report across the Co-op estate.  This register contains details of all relevant plant and equipment in each Co-op building.  It also contains full details of recommendations for optimising the efficiency, performance and life-cycle of valuable assets.  This comprehensive report covers every asset across every property in the portfolio.

By far the most outstanding benefit resulting from the exercise was the provision of a five year forward maintenance budget plan. This facilitates financial planning for asset upgrades and replacements based on rationalised data and has assisted the Co-op in prioritising maintenance costs

Our systems:

Our Maximo interfaces with the Co-op’s Maximo software and this bespoke system of information sharing provides real-time reporting and live data.  This means that we are able to provide up to date statistics including live job information.  This gives transparency in performance against key indicators and forms the basis for innovations and excellence in service delivery. The data is accessed from our field engineers’ wireless handheld and tablet technology.
