ISS Scoop Hospital Caterer of the Year award
Andy
Jones,
Director of catering at ISS Mediclean has been named as the Hospital Caterer of
the Year.
At their annual conference, held at the
London
Metropole Hotel the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA)
recognised the outstanding contribution that Andy
Jones has made
to patient catering over the last twelve months.
Andy (43)
is responsible for the development of catering at ISS Mediclean, the largest
facility service provider to the NHS. This is the first time in the
HCA’s
history that they have presented this prestigious award to a contractor, and is
seen as recognition that the contractors have a significant role to play in
improving catering within healthcare.
After
receiving his award Andy
Jones
said:
“This
award is for everyone within ISS Mediclean, I wouldn’t have received it without
the help of a great team who are totally committed to providing quality catering
to patients, hospital staff and visitors. I am very proud to be the first
non-NHS caterer to receive a nomination.”
Andy
Jones joined
the NHS in 1981 at the Leicester
General
Hospital.
In October 1999, he
took up the position as Service Development Manager for ISS, looking at
how the patients’ feeding systems could be improved by good planning and careful
investment. His success saw him promoted to his current role in
2002.
