3663 First for Foodservice, the UK’s leading foodservice distributor has won the multi-million pound contract to become the principle supplier of food and non-food products to ISS Facility Services Healthcare, following a decision by the company to consolidate the supply of core food categories and reduce the number of suppliers visiting their sites.
3663’s service allows it to deliver frozen, fresh and chilled food as well as grocery items and non-food products to ISS Facility Services Healthcare sites on one truck, thereby significantly reducing road miles and cutting down on CO2 emissions.
“Throughout the tender process we were looking for a supplier that could work with us to reduce our carbon emissions in line with the 10% reduction targets that need to be achieved by 2012,” said Simon Cox, Managing Director of ISS Facility Services Healthcare. “By consolidating our business and partnering with 3663 we’ve far surpassed this target and will be leading the market with reductions of 38%. You couldn’t ask for a better partnership – our sustainability credentials are closely aligned and over the course of the contract we know that 3663 will help us stay at the forefront of the sector.”
Andy Kemp, Sales Director at 3663, adds: “We have worked with ISS to develop a bespoke distribution solution that not only makes better commercial sense, but creates a more sustainable way of working. Our ability to deliver all products on a single truck reduces the number of deliveries, in turn lessening the impact on the environment.”
The contract will run until 2013, with the possibility of a two year extension.
