Education Triumphant with Trio of wins
ISS Facility Services, Education has announced the award of three prestigious contracts in Education catering.
On the back of successes with Ursuline School in the London Borough of Redbridge and 17 primary Schools with Slough Borough Council, ISS Facility Services Education has a spring in its step having secured three ground breaking contracts.
Up until now ISS FS Education has only operated in the South of England. The award of 44 primaries and 4 Secondary Schools with York City Council provides them with their first major contract in the North of England. The service is currently operated “in house” through North Yorkshire County Council and the decision to outsource was a major step for the Council.
Mark Davies, Divisional Director for ISS FS Education comments: “It gives us great pride that York City Council has put its faith in us to deliver a step change in its catering service to the schools in the City. It was a closely fought competition, but we won through with the quality of our proposal and our excellent references.
We will be introducing our Food For Life menus, new Salad bars, innovative menus and our new marketing concept, Food Force 5 , which has been designed specifically for this age group”
Colchester Institute is a further and higher education institution, with a high profile and a strong catering faculty. The new contract is for five years covering four campuses around North East Essex, and represents ISS FS Education’s first business in Further and Higher Education.

The hat trick was achieved when ISS FS Education were awarded the contract to provide both Catering and Grounds Maintenance to four secondary Schools in the London Borough of Merton, a Borough where they already have a strong presence in primary schools.
Mark Davies comments: “Here it was our approach to feeding teenage children with great, nutritious food, whilst accommodating their busy lives that clinched it. The ISS Meal Soups and Bowl Food concepts deliver great tasting food, on the go, so that the students get a taste of real food whilst being able to utilise their break times for other activities as well.”
