ISS UK has delivered its Corporate Responsibility Report for their 2009 activities.

 

The Review covers the company’s approach to corporate responsibility, outlines their top level priorities based on stakeholder input and uses the Business in the Community format of:

  • Worplace          - Our People (including Health and Safety)

 

  • Marketplace       - Our Partners (Customers and Suppliers)

 

  • Environment      - Our Planet

 

  • Community        - Our Places

 

to detail their performance, achievements and ‘Promises’.

 

During the year ISS:

  • Developed and actioned their first employee engagement survey for all our employees

 

  • Reviewed and reprioritised their material corporate responsibility issues based on input from a wide range of stakeholders

 

  • Measured their carbon footprint for the first time

 

  • Measured their corporate community involvement using the London Benchmarking Group (LBG) methodology across all 18 businesses for the first time

 

  • Appointed their first group wide charity – the British Heart Foundation allowing their 43,000 employees to sign up for “Change for Hearts”

 

  • Produced their first set of corporate responsibility case studies to help spread best practice across their clients and  businesses

 

  • Produced a tailored corporate responsibility training course and educated 48 of their senior members of staff

 

  •  Awarded their first corporate responsibility award to colleagues in ISS Facilities Services London for their combined, enthusiastic and valuable approach to CR

 

Speaking at the launch, Steve Workman, Head of Corporate Responsibility, ISS UK said” We have set some challenging targets this year to increase further and embed our commitment to corporate responsibility.  I am very proud of the progress that we have made over the last twelve months and believe that we are well positioned to demonstrate our commitments to one and all”.
