ISS Team Up with British Heart Foundation
ISS UK has selected the British Heart Foundation (BHF) as its corporate charity partner for 2010. Following strong competition from other major shortlisted charities a selection team chose BHF as the first group wide charity on the basis of a strong fit between the two organisations.
Peter Hollins, Chief Executive at the British Heart Foundation stated,
“The British Heart Foundation is absolutely delighted to have been selected as the Charity of the Year partner for ISS. As the UK ’s single biggest killer, heart disease touches us all. The BHF is the nation’s heart charity, dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care, and vital information.
We’re really excited about working closely together with ISS over the next year to raise vital awareness and funds for BHF, which will make a huge difference to the communities in which you operate. We believe that the strength of the partnership will also help bring together all ISS divisions and employees by working together towards one common goal, to help beat heart disease.
From all at the BHF, thank you once again for choosing us as your charity partner and we look forward to working closely with you over the next year.”
Heart and circulatory disease is the UK’s biggest killer with someone dying of a heart attack every 6 minutes. BHF‘s mission is to play a leading role in the fight against disease of the heart and circulation, so that it is no longer a major cause of disability and premature death.
ISS’s relationship with the BHF will raise funds which help the BHF achieve these aims through a number of innovative events throughout 2010. In return, as part of the ISS focus on the Health and Wellbeing of its people BHF will provide information on how to lead a healthy lifestyle with a focus on diet and exercise to ISS people.
ISS UK CEO, Henrik Andersen stated: “We are very pleased to announce that ISS UK are teaming up with BHF. We can all benefit from a strong ISS/BHF relationship and we look forward to announcing details of a payroll giving initiative shortly.
