ISS Achieves Highly Commended Award in BITCs Jaguar Land Rover Inspiring Young Talent category

ISS Achieves ‘Highly Commended’ Award in BITC’s Jaguar Land Rover Inspiring Young Talent category
ISS Facility Services is delighted to achieve
‘Highly Commended’ status for the 2015 Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Inspiring Young Talent Award at the Business in the Community (BITC) Annual Responsible
Business Gala on July 7th 2015.

The JLR Inspiring Young Talent Award recognises businesses that are supporting young people in their journey from education into successful working lives.  ISS received the Commendation for its five-stage Youth Employability strategy to inform, inspire, guide, recruit and develop young people.

The ISS programme is designed to bring the young closer to the labour market and provide them with essential employability skills. As a result, this integrated approach has supported over 2,000 young people aged 16-24 with various levels of skills development and work opportunities.

As a service provider working with clients across all work environments, ISS provides its Youth Employability participants with an understanding of different workplaces, sectors and roles at both ISS and client sites.  The judging panel considered the ISS programme a comprehensive and coordinated approach to inspiring and attracting young talent and one which companies in all sectors could learn from.

Richard Sykes, CEO, ISS UK and Ireland said, “This award is a wonderful testament to the importance of what we in the business world can do to support our young people. It’s a great accolade to the work that all of our people at ISS have put into supporting our future generations.” He continued, “Not only do we ensure the future for our youth, we also ensure the future for our sector. This programme helps us to bring new talent to the facilities management service sector, whilst providing essential workplace experience.”

Sykes concluded, “The award complements our corporate partnership with the Prince’s Trust. We look forward to continuing our work alongside BITC, our clients and other partners.”

The event at the Royal Albert Hall was the culmination of the 2015 Responsible Business Awards, run by The Prince of Wales’s business charity Business in the Community, to celebrate innovative ways that businesses in the UK and abroad are addressing pressing social and environmental issues and transforming communities.

Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said: “Every year, the Responsible Business Awards provide a tantalising glimpse of the potential of business as a force for good in society. From the largest global multinational to the smallest local firm, these companies prove that every business can and should play its part to build a fairer society for us all.”
