Training & Development / Career - ISS

When you join ISS you will find that we take training and development very seriously. We have a history of pioneering competency development within our industry. As we expand our Facility Services and bring them to new markets, on-the-job training and development climb even higher on our agenda.

As well as our Graduate Programmes we believe strongly in developing our own talents. Any individual joining ISS, at whatever level, can expect a structured approach to their training which meets both organisational and personal needs. This extends from Induction (welcome meeting, contract familiarisation, ISS and client-specific policies and procedures including Health, Safety & Environment, Customer Care etc) to Operational Skills Training, where recognised bodies are employed (e.g. BIFM for broader Facility Services Management Skills to BICS for cleaning tasks).

Beyond this, ISS offers varied education programmes (including an MBA course in conjunction with Kingston University) at its own University located at the ISS Group Headquarters in Copenhagen and here in the UK, intensive management development covering all key aspects from managing change to negotiation skills. A national training plan is published every six months detailing venues (usually ISS local offices or on occasions client sites) and dates for courses which are attended by nominated staff from any of the UK operations. This creates an excellent forum for the sharing of best practice and the strengthening of internal relationships.
